Egyptian archaeologist Zahi Hawass inaugurated an exhibition of Pharoah boy King Tutankhamun’s replicas in Brno, the second largest city in the Czech Republic, on Wednesday.
The exhibition contains 1,000 replicas of the treasures of King Tutankhamun. Hawass gave a lecture on recent archaeological discoveries in Egypt.
“We are now searching for King Imhotep’s tomb in Saqqara and Queen Nefertiti’s in Luxor. We are also working on the tomb of King Ramses II”, Hawass said.
Hawass revealed details of archaeological mission discoveries in Saqqara near the Pyramid of King Teti. “The mission found a 5-metre-long papyrus, a bronze axe belonging to an army soldier, game boards, boats, wooden masks, a plaque and coffins dating back to the New Kingdom”, he added.
Hawass spoke about the discovery of the Lost Golden City of Luxor, which dates back to the reign of King Amenhotep III. The lecture concluded with a book signing event on Tutankhamun.
