New Egyptian company to manage electric vehicle charging stations

The Egyptian Cabinet established a company on Wednesday to allocate, operate and manage electric vehicle charging stations in in Egypt.

“Public authorities with jurisdiction over public lands and garages are obligated to provide space within a range of 5% and 10% within the capacity of waiting areas to the company to manage and operate electric charging stations”, a statement by the Cabinet read.

A new electric car produced by Al-Nasr Manufacturing Automotive Company is set to be launched in the Egyptian market next August.

In March, Egyptian Minister of Public Business Sector Hisham Tawfik and French ambassador to Cairo, Marc Baréty, witnessed the signing of an agreement between Al-Nasr Automotive Manufacturing Company and Valeo Egypt to design, develop and produce electric car components.
