King Felipe VI of Spain received the Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry in Madrid on Monday.
“At the outset of his visit to Madrid, Spanish King HM King Felipe VI received minister Shoukry in the context of the historical friendly relations between Egypt and Spain. They discussed bilateral relations, and exchanged views on issues of mutual concern”, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Hafez wrote on Twitter.
Shoukry will meet the Spanish Minister of Ecological and the Demographic Challenge and other senior officials. Talks will focus on the preparations for the COP 27 which is hosted by Egypt in Sharm El-Sheikh later this year. Officials will examine boosting Spanish investment in Egypt and economic cooperation between the two sides.
