The Egyptian organised fourth annual World Youth Forum (WYF) concluded its activities on Thursday with the announcement of recommendations.

At the closing session of the WYF, several calls were raised including ones for the establishment of the ‘African Enterprise Business Council’. It aims to connect young entrepreneurs and businessmen to solidify innovations, offer opportunities and financing initiatives.

The World Health Organisation was urged to adopt an initiative for the mutual recognition of vaccines. Another call was for the localisation of water desalination technology in all countries suffering from water scarcity.

Calls were raised for holding a global summit of all international financial institutions and donor countries to discuss the best mechanisms to help poor and poorest communities.

The recommendations included the necessity of involving young people in climate change discussions, and working to disseminate and define climate goals at regional and international levels.

Regulating the use of transboundary water resources, were also discussed at the closing session. Participants recommended devising a global model of governance for the management of shared water resources based on stable and sustainable rules of the international law.

The WYF session stressed the importance of creating an international strategy for strengthening human and social solidarity, creating opportunities and more space to support international peace and security after the COVID-19 pandemic.
