“The idea of the Abrahamic Religion is categorically unacceptable”, Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of the holy see of St. Mark told the Egyptian TV on Friday.
“Religions are like colours, cannot be changed or replaced by innovation or adding false information to the constants of a given religion”, the Pope stressed.
He said, “the Abrahamic Religion differs from the three monotheistic religions. It is a political idea, rather than a religious one, where it aims to destroy the constants of religions, whether it is Islam, Christianity or Judaism”.
Earlier in November, Dr Ahmed al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, voiced similar ideas against the Abrahamic Religion.
“It is impossible for all humans to agree on just one religion, that is why freedom of religion is one of the most precious human rights”, Dr al-Tayeb said.
