“Unprecedented technologies will be used at the forum to limit the spread of COVID-19”, the World Youth Forum (WYF) organisers announced on Friday, ahead of the forum’s launch on 10 January.

“The new technologies include robots distributing hand sanitisers, sterilise hallways and measure the temperatures of participants”, the announcement noted.

The WYF introduced another robot to distribute food and drinks to attendees. Self-sterilisation gates were also fitted at the entrance of the venue to limit the spread of infections.

The forum launched an interactive platform to facilitate remote participation in the WYF’s fourth gathering. The platform will provide an opportunity for remote participants who cannot attend to take part in the forum.
