Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese lead the Christmas mass for Egyptian Coptic Christians in the presence of President, Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, at the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ in the New Administrative Capital on Thursday.

“We have started a new path in Egypt. It is the new republic path, which accommodates everyone without discrimination. Do not allow anyone to cause a strife between us, because any difficulties will be eased if we are united”, Sisi said in a speech at the mass.

In his speech, Sisi said; “the new republic will be built by all Egyptians, and will be based on dream, hope, science and hard work”.

This year’s mass was organised under tight COVID-19 precautionary measures, in which the event had a limited number of attendees.
