“The fourth annual round of the World Youth Forum (WYF) will be held from 10 to 13 January 2022 in Sharm El-Sheikh under the patronage of Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi”, the forum’s management announced on Monday.

“Online registration is open via the official website for youths of different genders, aged 18-30 years, from 15 November till 15 December”, the forum’s organisers said.

The forum’s agenda targets post-COVID impacts, climate change, social security, human rights, entrepreneurship, technology, 5G networks, digital transformation, distance learning, the environment, and the future of energy.

In addition, the forum’s workshops and the main conference sessions are scheduled to address the role of international institutions in recovering from the repercussions of the pandemic, and the future of health care.

The WYF will host the World Youth Theatre, which gathers promising artists from across the globe to showcase their talents and reflect their cultures. The World Youth Theatre will feature a wide range of art-related activities, including music, acting, stand-up comedy, painting and dancing.

The fourth round of the event was postponed as a result of the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic. To curb the spread of the coronavirus, the WYF’s organisers decided to reduce the number of participants in the upcoming round by only allowing vaccinated people to attend.

“All precautionary measures including social distancing, will be maintained in the forum. Teams will follow up on the implementation of the preventive plan during the four-day forum”, said, Rasha Raghed, the executive director of the National Academy for Youth Training.

Sara Hisham, a member of the organising committee of the WYF, stated that “more than 15 thousand people from over 160 countries took part in the last three editions of the forum”.

“The UN has accredited the WYF as an international dialogue platform for world youths”, Hisham noted.

The last round of the forum discussed key topics, including the Fourth Industrial Revolution, food security, the Union for the Mediterranean, and environmental challenges.

The WYF is an international annual event and was first launched in 2017.

It has become an opportunity for youth to engage with top policymakers and network with promising cohorts from the region and around the globe who are determined to make the world a better place for everyone.
