“A total of 831 new coronavirus cases were detected on Saturday, upping the total number of confirmed infections to 311,576”, the Egyptian Ministry of Health announced on Sunday.
The country’s total recoveries has reached 262,654 on Saturday, following the discharge of 611 patients from isolation hospitals. “39 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, which raises Egypt’s COVID-19 death toll to 17,658 Nationwide”, the Ministry’s spokesman, Khaled Megahed said.
“Next week Egypt will witness the peak of the fourth wave of coronavirus”, Hossam Hosny, the head of the scientific committee to combat the coronavirus at the Ministry of Health said on Saturday.
Hosny noted, “symptoms in the current wave include a fever lasting for two days or more in addition to a wet cough and constant headache. The treatment protocol of coronavirus is being updated”.
“Those who have received a coronavirus vaccine a year ago or more will be administered a third booster shot”, he added.
