The Moroccan Wydad football club won the African Champions League title after defeating Al-Ahly team of Egypt with two clean goals at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca on Monday.
Al-Ahly dominated the game for most of the first half. The first goal of the match was scored by Zuhair al-Matraji at the 15th minute. After three minutes into the second half, al-Matraji, managed to score his second goal.
“It was not the most beautiful final on a technical level, but we put the necessary state of mind to win this trophy. And what makes this victory more resounding is the fact that it was won against Al-Ahly, the title holders and Champions League record holders”, Wydad AC head coach told CAF Online.
Al-Ahly lost the African Champions League title after retaining it for two successive rounds.
