“We no longer advise against all but essential travel to the southern part of South Sinai governorate and Fayoum governorate”, the United Kingdom Embassy in Egypt said on Thursday.

“This means it’s now easier than ever for the hundreds of thousands of Brits who visit Egypt every year to discover more of this amazing country”, the embassy added.

The embassy urged Britons wishing to travel to Egypt to check the latest Travel Advice and stay in contact with their travel provider. On Friday, the UK removed the COVID-19 measures on return for travellers to the kingdom. The UK scrapped the need to provide a PCR test prior to travel and removed the passenger locator forum.

“The update in the travel advice for Egypt would encourage tourist travel companies operating in the UK market to expand their travel programs to the various destinations in such areas”, the Egyptian Ambassador to the United kingdom Sherif Kamel said in a statement.

He welcomed the UK change of travel advice, which reflects the stability of security in Egypt.
