Egypt denounces Houthi attack against Saudi Abha Airport

“Egypt strongly condemns the ongoing Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia, and their attack on Abha International Airport”, a statement by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs read on Thursday.

Egypt re-affirmed its full support for Saudi Arabia to preserve security and to ensure the safety of its citizens.

The Houthis military spokesman, Yahya Sarea, announced on Twitter that the Houthis “accurately targeted the Abha International Airport by a Qasef 2K drone”. He added that the airport is “frequently used for military purposes” against them.

The Saudi-led Arab coalition confirmed; “12 civilians from different nationalities were injured in the attack”. It added that the drone was intercepted and that injuries resulted from falling debris.
