Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry received 95 smuggled Egyptian artefacts from his Israeli counterpart Yair Lapid at a meeting in Cairo on Thursday.
“Shoukry received his Israeli counterpart this morning as part of Egypt’s role in the ongoing efforts to revive the peace process and discussed issues of bilateral relations”, Egyptian Foreign Ministry’s spokesman, Ahmed Hafez, said in a statement.
Lapid held discussions with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi at Presidential Palace in Cairo. The agenda covered bilateral relations, the Palestinian cause and the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
“The President affirmed Egypt’s ongoing efforts to achieve comprehensive and just peace in the Middle East on the basis of the two state solution and the international legitimacy laws”, said Egyptian Presidential spokesman, Bassam Rady.
