Russia’s flag carrier, Aeroflot, doubled its weekly flights from 25 to 50 between Moscow, Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada airports on Wednesday. Russian tour companies are offering reservations in 164 hotels, 80 of which are in Hurghada and 84 in Sharm el-Sheikh.

The minimum cost of an all-inclusive weeklong trip to Sharm el-Sheikh including flights and seven nights accommodation in a 5-star hotel starts from 44,400 Rubles (approximately £E9,500) per person in a double room. The same conditions apply in Hurghada; however, the minimum trip price starts from 51,1500 Rubles (£E11,000).

“Aeroflot, S7, Ural Airlines, Azur Air, Nordwind, IKAR, Red Wings, and Yamal airlines are all planning to run flights from the Russia to Egypt”, according to the Russian Federal Agency for Air Transport.

Moscow had suspended flights to and from Egypt, after an Airbus-321 belonging to a Russian airline was shot down by terrorists over the Sinai Peninsula at the end of October 2015, killing all 224 people on board.
