Egyptian Tokyo 2020 champions awarded ‘Order of Sports’

Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi awarded Egyptian Olympic champions and their coaches the ‘Order of Sports’ on Tuesday. The tier of the order was designated according to the type of medal they won in Tokyo 2020.

Karate Athlete and Gold Medallist in Tokyo 2020, Feryal Ashraf, received the highest tier of the ‘Order of Sports’, while Modern Pentagram and Silver Medal Winner in Tokyo 2020, Ahmed Osama al-Gendy, received a second tier ‘Order of Sports’.

Each of the four other champions were awarded third tier ‘Order of Sports’ for garnering Bronze Medals in Tokyo 2020. The athletes include Taekwondo athletes, Hedaya Malak, and Seif Eissa, Karate athlete, Giana Farouk, and wrestling athlete, Mohamed Ibrahim.

Coaches of each of the honoured athletes were awarded the same tiers of the ‘Order of Sports’ as their respective trainees.
