Arab Parliament call for ‘Youth Unemployment Fund’

The Arab Parliament called for establishing a ‘Youth Unemployment Fund’ to “tackle the issues of the youth in the region”, especially amid economic impacts ensued from the global outbreak of coronavirus pandemic.

The call was made in a speech delivered by Shaza Saeed, deputy head of the Arab Parliament’s human rights council, at the 7th world conference of young parliamentarians, virtually held by the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

She highlighted the importance of considering the remarkable impact of coronavirus outbreak on the health, social and economic conditions of the youths.

Saeed expressed support for empowering the youth as a force for helping in the recovery from the pandemic. “The youth represent more than two thirds of the Arab region”, she stressed.
