A number of mud brick Roman ovens and a large wall from the Egyptian Late Period, have been discovered at the Avenue of Sphinxes in Luxor.
During excavation work carried out at the Avenue of Sphinxes in the Nagaa Abu Asaba area in Luxor, an Egyptian archaeological mission discovered the Roman ovens. The ovens were used to bake clay, while the large wall safeguarded the Eastern side of the Nile from the flood.
Another wall made of sandstone blocks was discovered. The wall is 30 meters long, 2.5 meters high and 3 meters wide.
