176 killed in Ukrainian plane crash near Tehran

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko said, “there were 82 Iranians and 63 Canadians on board the Ukrainian airliner that crashed in Iran” on Wednesday. 

The plane was heading to the Ukrainian capital Kiev. It crashed shortly after takeoff from Imam Khomeini airport in Tehran, Iran. 

Detailing the casualties on Twitter, the Ukrainian foreign minister said, “there were 11 Ukrainians on board; including nine crew members , 10 Swedish, four from Afghanistan, three from Germany, and three British nationals”.
