Egypt’s National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) announced on Tuesday, that Egypt and the Arab world will witness a partial solar eclipse on 21 June 2020.
The eclipse will last for nearly two hours, from 6:24 am till 8:24 am, while its peak will be at 7:20 am when the moon covers 46% of the sun.
The eclipse will be visible in South-Eastern Europe, Asia and Northern Australia. South and West Africa will not witness the eclipse, the statement added.
The NRIAG announced that one of its teams will record the partial solar eclipse at the institute headquarters in Helwan and will broadcast it live on its official website.
The institute warned citizens not to look directly at the eclipse without the use of special solar eclipse sunglasses.
NRIAG says this is the third eclipse the Earth will witness in 2020.
