Lebanon secures financial aid

“Lebanon is ready to comply with a request from the International Monetary Fund to float its struggling local currency after receiving foreign aid”, said Finance minister Ghazi Wazni said on Friday.

He added that Lebanon would also reduce the number of commercial banks by a half, in a bid to alleviate the worst financial crisis in the country since the 1975-1990 civil war.
