President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi announced, on Sunday, economic measures taken by the Egyptian state to face the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

He said, “the government decided to include the five bonuses due for pensioners by 80% of the basic wage, in addition to granting the annual periodic bonus to pensioners to be 14% as of next fiscal year”.

The decision extended the moratorium on the tax law on agricultural land for a period of two years.

Sisi called on citizens to show “clear commitment” and to comply by health instructions while dealing with the coronavirus crisis.

The president ordered the Ministry of Information to raise awareness among people about the coronavirus pandemic, including medical instructions.

He urged citizens not to overbuy products as the country has sufficient reserves of food for at least the next three months.

Egypt reported a total of 294 cases of coronavirus, on Saturday.
