Egyptian Foreign Ministry condemned, in a statement issued on Wednesday, a knife attack which took place in the Jordanian city Jerash; which is known for its Roman antiquities. The attack resulted in injuring eight people of different nationalities.
The ministry affirmed Egypt’s solidarity with the Jordanian people and government, its support of all measures preserving the sisterly country’s security and stability and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
The eight people, including tourists, were stabbed on Wednesday in the main tourist attractions in the Middle Eastern Arab country. The injured tourists included three Mexicans and a Swiss woman.
Security forces arrested the perpetrator but have not yet officially announced the motive behind the attack.
