Zahi Hawas inaugurates King Tut’s archaeological model museum in Brazil

Egyptian archaeologist Zahi Hawas inaugurated the Museum of Archaeological Models of King Tutankhamun in Curitiba, Brazil.

The museum contains archaeological models purchased from the workshops of the Ministry of Antiquities that reflect the story of the golden pharaoh Tutankhamun. Hawas supervised the establishment of the museum in cooperation with Italian photographer Sandroi Vanini.

The museum has models of military carts, king’s throne, cabin and canopy pots. This is in addition to many photographs and films showing the history of the monuments displayed.

Hawas said that “this museum helps revive the Brazilian tourism to Egypt”, pointing out that “Egypt is safe”.

The mayor announced that the name “King Akhenaten” was given to the most important square in the city of Curitiba, explaining that the Rosicrucian Society, which follows the footsteps of King Akhenaten and King Thutmose III, set up the new museum. A ram road and a huge obelisk were also set up next to the museum.

On the side lines of the opening of the museum, Hawas held an international press conference attended by many journalists; talking about the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Tutankhamun Opera which will be announced on September 12 in the presence of an Italian musician.

Mayor of the city and Egyptian Commercial Advisor Mohammed Al-Khatib attended the inauguration, in addition to many of the city’s cultural and political figures.
